Vice President, Nuclear Asset Recovery and Strategic Projects
Jack Bailey was named to his present position as Vice President, Nuclear Asset Recovery and Strategic Projects, in June 2005. He has responsibility for all activities connected with Bellefonte and Watts Bar Unit 2, as well as nuclear fuel functions. His responsibilities include helping TVA determine the value of its unfinished nuclear assets, establishing how they can best be used to meet future needs, and managing TVAN’s most strategic projects.
Bailey, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the nuclear industry, was previously Senior Vice President of Power Resources and Operations Planning. He joined TVA in February 1997 as Vice President of Engineering and Technical Services in TVA Nuclear.
From 1989 to 1997, Bailey worked at Arizona Public Service Company’s Palo Verde Nuclear Station. His positions there included Vice President of Nuclear Support, Vice President of Nuclear Engineering and Projects, Director of Engineering Site Technical Support, and Director of the Nuclear Engineering Department. From 1982 to 1989, he was at Virginia Power’s Surry Nuclear Station.
Bailey was an officer in the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1982. He earned a B.S. degree from the University of Texas at El Paso.
